Do you enjoy cooking? Even if you are not a chef or a gourmet or epicurean cook, if you are inquisitive about collecting different recipes, the Web can be wonderful. From finding substitute ingredient to meal planning, the Web has many food resources available. Some would say it is a recipe collector's paradise and a cook's second home, even if some Web sites have even stranger recipes than Susan Stamberg's mother-in-law's cranberry relish. Fat-free? Or Heavy on desserts - ice cream; cookies; gingerbread and pies to name a few. Tell the world about
yourself... The Web is full of words...
Frankly... Soooo, what can you do on the Web?
And lastly, a few parting
thoughts... ~ The Internet does not have all the answers. ~ Everything on the Internet is not free and accessible. ~ Do not believe everything you see on the Internet is accurate, reliable, or up-to-date. You must learn to Think and Reason things through... logically. Almost anyone can put up almost anything on the Web for almost any purpose. Examine assumptions, including and perhaps especially, your own. ~ You can locate pictures of naked children on the web. You can also find sites that tell how to make bombs. There are pages that show you how to break the law. There are even sites that try to lure your children in to music-disdaining fundamentalist churches. But you have to try to find them... ~ The Web is a fairly accurate reflection of the world we live in. If you go looking for nasty, evil, slimy things you will find them. If you look for nice, friendly, positive, productive things, you will find them. If you are finding too much of what you say you are not looking for... perhaps it time for some deep introspection and self honesty. And if all this wasn't enough to get you started, take a look at someone else's ideas on what you can do on the World Wide Web. |
